Acrobats: A rare minority sport spandex-laden anything, much less do so in public. Or try crazy contortionist moves with colleagues without causing a spike in the local unemployment rate. And then there are these guys - Asheville Aerial Artists - who are well trained (complete with svelte physiques) to bend and contort while wrapped around ribbons....swinging from trees...or leaping over one another. With that going on, even your funkiest dance moves will fit right in! We'll all feel inspired come October 24th to pick up a new hobby....
Food: What party would be complete without deliciously non-caloric aesthetically pleasing mini-eats?
Precisely why we Junior League women believe in fully enjoying the likes of miniature cuisine made by local chefs and composed of local cuisine....and we've decided to generously share our fare and secrets of our local favorites during the fall gala.
Just think......you can enjoy one, or six, of everything and no one will know because you will be incognito behind your gloriously feather-laden masqued face. Now if only you could bring your masque to CiCi's.....
Tunes: Asheville Jazz Orchestra will be livening up our evening with their 17-piece orchestra, live vocals, and a nod to the golden days of Frank, Ella, and Bing. A little romance....a little nostalgia....and a little something to begin the first annual Fall Gala with a bang!
And then for those of you eager to hit the dance floor and pump it up to modern pop and chart topers, Alleycat's Mobile Dance Party will be doing their magic from 9 pm on.
A little something for everyone. Now don't forget your dancing shoes!
Attire: This year's Fall Gala will be cocktail attire with a masquerade flair. Take this opportunity to done your best, add a little feathered flare and put on your dancing shoes!
Proceeds from The Fall Gala support the Junior League of Asheville's mission to improve the community, promote voluntarism, and develop the potential of women.
